Interesting Wisconsin Facts
The grounds of the birthplace of the Republican Party was in Ripon,
Wisconsin. The first kindergarten
in the United States was open in Watertown, Wisconsin by Margarethe Meyer
Schurz. In 1868, the
first typewriter was invented by Christopher Latham Sholes of Milwaukee. It
became the 30th state
on May 29, 1848. It has
two nicknames, the Badger State and America’s Dairyland. Its motto is
“Forward.”
Some of the large cites are Milwaukee, Madison,
Green Bay, Kenosha, and Racine. The state bird is the
Robin. It borders the states of
Illinois,
Iowa, Michigan and Minnesota.
