Interesting Virginia Facts
Virginia is known as
"the birthplace of a nation". Virginia is where the first peanuts were grown
in the United States. In Yorktown, the American
Revolution ended with the surrender of Cornwallis.
The world’s largest bridge-tunnel complex is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel in
Virginia. Its
Nickname is “Old Dominion.” Its largest cities
are Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Richmond, Chesapeake
and Newport News. It borders the states of
Kentucky, North Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia and
Tennessee.
